These Terms of Service govern your use of DiasporaPay's money transfer services. Please read them carefully before using our platform.
By creating a DiasporaPay account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services. These terms apply to all users including senders, recipients, and visitors.
To use DiasporaPay you must: • Be at least 18 years of age • Be a legal resident or citizen of a supported send country • Provide accurate and complete identity information • Not be subject to sanctions or on any government watchlist • Use the service only for lawful purposes
DiasporaPay provides international money transfer services. We act as a payment intermediary, not a bank. Our services include: • Sending money to mobile wallets (Orange Money, MTN MoMo, M-Pesa, Wave, etc.) • Bank transfers to supported African countries • Real-time exchange rate quotes • Transfer tracking and history We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time with reasonable notice.
Transfer fees are displayed clearly before you confirm any transaction. Exchange rates are updated hourly and are locked at the time you confirm your transfer. We earn revenue from the exchange rate margin in addition to any stated transfer fee. All fees are inclusive of applicable taxes.
Transfer limits apply based on your verification tier: • Tier 1 (Basic): up to $200 per day • Tier 2 (Verified): up to $2,000 per day • Tier 3 (Premium): unlimited transfers Higher limits are subject to completing additional identity verification (KYC).
You may not use DiasporaPay for: • Money laundering or terrorist financing • Fraud or misrepresentation • Transactions involving sanctioned individuals or countries • Illegal gambling, narcotics, or other prohibited activities • Circumventing currency controls or tax obligations • Any purpose that violates applicable laws Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities.
You may cancel a transfer before it reaches "Payout Sent" status. Once funds have been delivered to the recipient, cancellations are not possible. Refunds for cancelled transfers are processed within 3–5 business days to your original payment method. Fees may be non-refundable for cancelled transactions.
DiasporaPay's liability is limited to the value of the transfer fee paid. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We are not responsible for delays caused by recipient financial institutions, network outages, or force majeure events. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed €500 per user per year.
For any disputes, please first contact our support team at support@diasporapay.com. If unresolved within 15 business days, disputes may be referred to mediation. These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of Paris.
We may update these Terms of Service with 30 days' notice for material changes. Notice will be provided by email and in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
